CREATIVE.NRW is the network of creative professionals in Germany’s largest state, North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). Accounting for €36 billion in revenue and employing 315,000 people in 50,000 businesses, the creative industries ranks third in the state’s economy. As a center of expertise in the state, we serve employees, companies, freelancers, institutions, and municipalities.
We build bridges between the creative industries and other sectors, provide contacts and knowledge, and offer services. With our capable partners throughout NRW, we work to further strengthen creative stimulus for innovation and growth in the economy and society—and to continually improve the conditions for successful creative work.
We see the creative industries not only as an important economic factor, but also as an engine for innovation for other industries, as an important element of forward-thinking urban development, and as a partner for developing new solutions to social challenges not only driven by technology.
Along with freelancers and companies, policymakers and municipalities in NRW, we develop and realize initiatives that aim to strengthen the creative industries’ stimulus for innovation and growth in the economy and society. We thus help continue the successful track record of the creative industries in the state of NRW as well as on the national and international level.
Our vision is for everyone in NRW to recognize that there is no division between “old” and “new,” or “conventional” and creative industries. There is only one economy—and it must be creative in order to be successful.
